Loke™ and Eira™ 49 DB fitting guide
Loki™ and Eira™ 49 DB is designed specifically to dampen sound between rooms and floors (step sound) and to dampen reverberation in rooms.
The disc has 2 sets of properties:
- Blocks continuous sound with
- Absorbs reverberation in the room where it is installed. NRC = 0.95, sound class A.
Applications:
- Damping of step sound from the above
To attenuate sound between floors, the ceiling in the affected room must be covered 100%.
- Attenuation of sound between offices (via air) where e.g. cellular offices do not have walls to the floor partition. To attenuate sound between such offices, the offices must have ceilings of system ceilings where the panels are laid in, covered 100%.
Soundproofing via the ceiling between two rooms. Dn,f,w value 42 dB according to. BS EN ISO 717-1:1997
- Sound attenuation between offices where walls go to floor level and sound comes through the walls.
To attenuate sound between such offices, the wall where the sound passes through must be covered 100%.
- Attenuation of reverberation (echo) in rooms.
To reduce reverberation in a room, you don't need to cover the room more than necessary.
The need is calculated based on sound measurement of reverberation time. The panels can be mounted on ceilings or walls.
Installation in ceilings in the area affected by sound.
Installation on a wall in the area affected by sound.
Pertaining to technical installations:
Light spotlights (e.g. LED lights / low voltage) can be mounted directly in the plates.
Lamps and other electronic equipment can be attached to the panels with long through-going screws that are fastened to the floor divider.
Any electrical installations behind the panels must be carried out by specialised personnel.
Any installation of fire detection and fire extinguishing equipment behind the panels must be carried out by specialised personnel.
If the installation involves cutting and customisation of/in the panels, cut surfaces must be sealed.
NB!
All such installations may lead to sound penetration (leaks) and should be minimised.
